Republican 2018 Amendment Guide

The following amendments have been endorsed by the Republican Party of Florida Executive Board:

Amendment 1: Increased Homestead Property Tax Exemption (Sponsor: FL Legislature)
Amendment 2: Limitations on Property Tax Assessments (Sponsor: FL Legislature)
Amendment 5: Supermajority Vote Required to Impose, Authorize, or Raise State Taxes or Fees (Sponsor: FL Legislature)
Amendment 6: Rights of Crime Victims; Judges (Sponsor: CRC)
Amendment 7: First Responder and Military Member Survivor Benefits; Public Colleges and Universities (Sponsor: CRC)
Amendment 11: Property Rights; Removal of Obsolete Provision; Criminal Statutes (Sponsor: CRC)
Amendment 12: Lobbying and Abuse of Office by Public Officers

The following amendment, as well as the above amendments, are endorsed by the St. Johns County Republican Executive Committee:
Amendment 10: Requires that the Legislature retain The Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Ensures election of Sheriffs, Property Appraisers, Supervisors of Elections, Tax Collectors, and Clerks of Courts; removes County Charters’ abilities to abolish, change the term, transfer the duties, or elimination of these offices and preserves Citizen’s right to vote for these offices. Changes the legislative session commencement date in even numbered years from March to January. Creates a Department of Domestic Security and Counterterrorism within the Department of Law enforcement.
